INTRODUCTION TO CASINO WAR

Casino Was is arguably one of the easiest games to learn and understand. The game is based on one the first card games that someone will learn as a child. Where the higher card in the deck simply beats the lower card. This is definitely a game for players that want to test their luck as there is no real strategy that is involved with this game.

HOW TO PLAY CASINO WAR

The game of casino war is most commonly played with 6 decks. The cards are ranked as with poker and the ace is always the highest card. The player decides what they want to bet and the dealer matches the bet that is made. There is also a bonus bet that the player can choose to bet on, which is betting that the cards will be equal. Then the player and the dealer both get one card. If the players card is higher, the player wins their bet back and 1 times more their bet, if the dealer card is higher the player loses their bet.

In the event of both cards being equal, the player has two choices:

1) The player can give up half their bet. OR

2) The player can go to War. The player must then make another bet and the dealer will give them both two more cards where the same rules apply to decide the outcome.

The dealer than burns three cards which you don’t see and deals another card (the dealer does this for himself and the player), If the cards happen to be equal again the player still wins the war.

CASINO WAR STRATEGY

Casino War is one of the easiest casino games to learn how to play. The rules are simple and there is very little skill involved because it is a game of chance. But there are a few strategies every play should know before really hitting the tables at this game. These strategies will not only help you learn to play the game better but will also keep you from making any simple mistakes that could cost you money.

First off, in Casino War the house and player generally have equal odds of winning (46.3%) on the first card. It seems like a fair game to play however when the game hits a tie is when the house advantage grows. The house advantage also goes up with every deck that is in play (most casinos will play with six, standard 52-card decks) and goes down when they offer a bonus payout.

There are two very important strategies to use when playing Casino War. First, never surrender and second, never bet on a tie.

Surrendering on a tie (when yours and the dealers’ first card are the same) is considered a mistake because, although it is a risk (you are adding to your original ante bet) the odds are still in your favour to win. Surrendering means you are handing your money over to the house. It is better to risk twice your bet at a 2.33% house edge then to give up your money to the casino at a 3.7% edge.

The second rule, don’t bet on the tie side bet, is a good strategy to follow because the tie bet carries a 10-1 payout. There’s no need to completely avoid the tie bet but don’t count on it to bring you in much money. Think of it as more of a fun side bet to occasionally add some extra excitement.

Another good strategy to follow is to keep an eye on the Ace cards that come up. It will give you a good, general idea of how many of these high, winning cards there are left in the deck.

Finally, make sure you always have enough of a reserve to cover going to war. You wouldn’t want to end up in a tie and find out your chip stack no longer exists and you have to surrender your hand and money away.

So while Casino War may seem like an easy game to play with little decision making on the players part, it is a game full of excitement if you play to win by using the strategies we’ve mentioned above!
